Ingredients That Can Never Be a Part of a Healthy Relationship

« Return to search

This image, created by survivor consultant Rucha Nimbalkar, shows how grooming in domestic servitude—especially when it starts in a romantic relationship—often follows a pattern made up of specific harmful behaviors. Tactics like abuse, blackmail, threats, etc. are not small issues that can be worked through or balanced out. Once these behaviors show up, they shift the relationship into something unsafe and exploitative. The recipe idea makes this simple: if even one abusive “ingredient” is added, the whole relationship is no longer healthy—it’s spoiled. This framing helps providers and survivors recognize that these patterns aren’t normal relationship challenges, and that early recognition matters before they escalate or become harder to leave.
